I am new to powerhome and have been responsible for a large installation for the past year or so. I have some questions regarding powerhome setup.
I have a timed event that does a system scan nightly between 1:00 am and 5:00 am. Every day I get a broken link in 1 device in a group of 5. An extra device always shows up with link not found and device type not found. Is powerhome retrieving the link from the device during the system scan? Is it possible that that device was manually linked to a device that no longer exists?
In PowerHome Explorer - Devices - Insteon - Groups - By Controller; I see there are 3 entries with Controller ID: [NOT FOUND]. I do have some devices in the Insteon Explorer - Links tab that don't show a plm with a group number, is that possibly why?
In Insteon Explorer - PLC/PLM Groups I have many groups set up. Where does one see, change, or add/remove devices from a group? The PowerHome Explorer - Devices - Insteon - Groups - By Controller window seems to just be for listing groups, I don't see how to modify this information.
While I have been working with this installation for over a year I have never had time to learn the software. I now have access remotely and learned a lot this weekend thanks to everyone's help,

In the Insteon Explorer, go to links, then select the desired device (Insteon Device ID) in the drop-down in the upper-left. You can than see which group it belongs to.

It is possible that you had links to a device you replaced and they were not unlinked first.

For links between a controller device (other than the PLM) and one or more responder devices, the controller device hardware determines the Group number. For example, a SwitchLinc always uses Group 1 which represents the single paddle. A KeypadLinc, in 8 button mode, uses Group numbers 1 thru 8 representing the 8 individual buttons on the KeypadLinc.
For PLC/PLM Groups, you determine what the Group number will be. Each PLC/PLM Group definition must have a unique number but they do not have to be assigned in sequence. You could assign Group 5 to the first PLC/PLM Group definition, Group 10 to the second PLC/PLM Group definition. Or you can assign them in sequence, Group 1, Group 2, and so on. It is your choice. Group numbers have a range of 1 – 255 but 255 has a special meaning and should not be used.
Once a Group number has been assigned to the PLC/PLM Group definition that Group number is used in link definitions to responder devices just as you would use the Group number established by hardware for other Insteon controllers. It is the list of responder devices linked to the PLM with a specific PLC/PLM Group number that establishes the “devices in the PLC/PLM Group”.
If an invalid link (not a valid link that may be broken) is consistently showing up for a particular device, you can drag that link definition to the device list and drop it which will delete that entry (actually put the delete request in the Pending Operations queue) when you click on Save. As was previously posted, that could be a link to a device that was replaced sometime in the past or just an invalid link record that was created with bad information due to line noise. The later is very rare but can happen. Explicitly deleting the invalid link record should stop if from showing up in the next status scan.

Thats probably it. There is an electrician that replaces devices. He provides me with Old Address/New Address and when I arrive I Replace Address. It is possiblee that addresses have been overlooked. I have one now that I have to auto-detect because he didn't provide the correct address.

Thats fine but I have entries in the Device Status window that reflect the Groups set up in PH. I would like to see/edit all the devices in each group. Isn't there a way to do that?

All the devices that are linked as responders to PLC/PLM Groups are listed in the Responders section of the PLM device, clustered together by PLC/PLM Group number.
The Responder devices under Group 9,10,11 are PLC/PLM Group devices.
