I don't seem to be able to Trigger from the on/off actions of a Virtual Device. Not sure if it's what I'm doing or a PH limitation.

My Trigger is ...

and the PH Event Log shows the following after turnning off/on the Virtual Device...

But the Event Log shows no Trigger recognition (the associated Macro was not called) and actual events correlate to this )non-performance).

Am I missing something, or is PH?

I've not used Virtual Insteon devices but there is some mismatch with the posted information. The Trigger Type is "Insteon Group Out" (Group being key) but the Event Log shows an Insteon Direct command (Direct being key). A Group trigger does not fire from a Direct command.

Lee - Roger that, but I couldn't figure anything different to use. I initially tried the Insteon Group In action but that didn't work so then I tried the Group Out.

Is there anything I can use that will catch the virtual device's off/on commands?

The Trigger Type does not show Insteon Direct Out as an option?

I defined what I think/hope is a Virtual device (address V0.00.02). Used a ph_insteon("VIRTUAL DEVICE 1", 17, 255) which did fire a Trigger that is defined with Insteon Direct Out for "VIRTUAL DEVICE 1". The Trigger invoke a Macro correctly.

PS- this was the final link in making a dual garage door open/close automation project a success.

I now have total control of my two doors with Keypad indication of open/close status.

At 9PM the doors now close if they were left open (saving me the grief of checking outside when our Michigan winters get down and dirty cold in Jan!)

I love PH. It is the Killer Ap EVER, as far as I'm concerned. I think I may now have one of the most automated homes in Michigan. Just about everything is under the control of PH.

My poor wife is growing ever more terrified, that if I die before she does that she will not have a clue how to make the house work.

But that should be no problem. I'm planning to stick around until at least 100! I'm having too much fun to leave any earlier.
