Wondering if any experienced PH users live in St. Johns / Flagler / Volusia County area of Florida and could help with some PH issues? We had a gifted college student help set up the basics and PH is running and web accessible. But there are issues after he graduated and we moved to a more stable computer, and we never finished macros, some custom backgrounds/buttons, and migration from X-10 to Insteon. Would also like to see if the new Android app is feasible. Anyone live near the South Flagler County area where we could reimburse for time / travel, or if not, can maybe do remote access using Gbridge or similar ? Thanks.

Sorry, I live in the Virginia Beach area, so I can't help you directly, but I
can tell you about the Android app. I am the developer of it and I can tell you
that it is very stable and several users find it very useful. I personally use
it several times a day. I am currently developing the next version which will
allow graphics (think floorplans and dashboards) and a lot of other
functionality.
As for the rest of your request, good luck! There is a bit of a learning curve
with PowerHome. In my opinion it is well WELL worth it though.

Thanks--I've put my DynDNS link to PH onto my and my wife's Androids as a 'bookmark' shortcut to take us right to Control Center, and that at least allows us to turn on lights where we need as we come home, or gives us a 'super remote' if we forget irrigation zone, etc. I'm not into learning XMS or XML or the other things your app seemed to require, although i liked the 'push' aspect and appreciate your effort...it will have to be idiot proof for spouses or home buyers to appreciate or utilize, I believe. It's akin to me telling someone that flying or playing a pipe organ is easy because I've learned it... there will still be a time-consuming learning curve for the novice with many features of PH and perhaps your app as it stands now.
So, those are the types of things for which i was seeking help and willing to pay for someone's time since i admire folks gifted in those areas and learn by coming along after their core work and tweaking, as time and two toddlers permit.
It was suggested I try this forum before hiring another local college IT student to apply their knowledge base to this area, since they'll have some learning curve as well. I know enough to know what i don't know, sorta.

Well, you are in luck then. In the next few weeks I will be releasing the next
version of the PowerHome Connector for Android which will not require any knowledge
of XML. All of the menus will be edited from within the app. Of course you will
still need to have everything working in your PowerHome application, but at least
the setup of the android app will be a lot easier.
Stay tuned here.
By the way, if you have any specific questions, I'm sure you can ask them here and
the gang will gladly help you out. But if you are in the situation of not even
knowing what to ask, then you might be better off hiring some local help.
