Can I use the E-mailfunction if I have a Win98 machine with just Outlook Express installed? And if Yes, How do I go about this? I have made a macro with the command process e-mail and set the name and Pw in powerhome.....what's next?

Peter,

Yes, Win98 and Outlook Express is just fine.

To enable email control, be sure and go to Setup->Email in the PowerHome Explorer and verify that you have "Enable Email Control" checked. You may also want to "Restrict Email Control to Address" to only allow email from certain addresses to be processed. If you want the processed control email to deleted, check that box as well. Unless you have different profiles setup in Outlook Express, you can leave the MAPI Client Login and MAPI Client Password blank (this is not the same as your email login). If you make any changes to this screen, be sure and restart or reinitialize PowerHome.

Once this is setup, since you already have a macro to process email, all you need now is a Timed Event to execute your macro at the interval you wish to have email processed.

One thing you may want to change is instead of using the "PROCESS EMAIL" macro command, is to instead use the ph_processemailthread function. This will accomplish the same thing but wont cause PowerHome to hang if there is a problem accessing your mail server.

Hope this helps,

Dave.

Nope, Outlook Express does not need to be open.
