Anyone have a better idea for a shopping list macro/script than using a virtual device for each item? I've wanted to do this for a long time and I'm looking to start soon.

Tony,

Im out of town at the moment so don't have access to check, but could you possibly do something with the User table?

It's in the PowerHome Explorer under User. I know you could then use the ph_sqlselect type statements to access it. I can't remember, but I may have provided dedicated functions for the User table.

Another idea may be with text files. The PowerHome functions for text file access are admittedly not the greatest but you may be able to write a VBS script to do the access.

I would probably do the interface to whatever method you choose as a web based interface since the Explorer or Device Status screen wouldn't be the best suited.

Just some quick thoughts,

Dave.

Hmm. Thanks for the tip on the User table!

Yeah, web-based is what I want. That way, I can have the shopping list updated whenever, by whoever, and I could pull it up on my phone while at the store.
