In my search for better slider controls for my PH lighting web pages, I came across this page.

Here is the sample page. Use guest for both name and password. Here is the code.

This again uses the DIMAC macro, which I have documented elsewhere here on the forum.

Hey Tony, I tried this out and keep getting an error that "an error occurred while retrieving data from the X10DEVICES and X10TYPES tables" Not sure why I keep getting that. Ever come up for you?

Looks like I forgot to mention that you need to update the device names to something that matches your system and that the psp code is set up for Insteon.

Could that be it?

I already modified the psp with my device names, removed the little bit that kept adding the "I" for insteon and switched out the insteon stat request with the x10 version of the command. It seems to get the status correctly, when I dim a light using a remote and update the page it shows the proper level. (though the slider doesn't match the number)

Powerhome is receiving "desk_spot 100" as the info sent to the DIMAC macro. (as stated by the usermessage output) I did have a little trouble getting that macro to load though I'm not 100% sure how to fix it. It gave me an error halfway through the sql, where it has the second macroheader entry.

By the way, I was bored last night so I started looking around your "Holly Manor" setup. Looks great!

Ah! Unless you caught this already, you'll also need to change...

ph_getinsteonlevel("DeviceID")/255*100

to

ph_getx10level("DeviceID"))

For use with X10.

Wow. I just looked at what you likely saw. That's old! Look here and use guest/guest for access...

Yea, I already made that change. Something tells me at this point that maybe the problem lies in my DIMAC macro, maybe it's messed up somehow. do you think you could up a screenshot of it on yours so I can double check it?

That is what I saw, I started out on the old stuff but eventually linked my way through to that.

Well, I confirmed that what I have is what it should be based on yours.

If I'm not mistaken, in looking over the logic of the macro it seems to be designed to handle the old style of powerhome unit addressing (a3 d1 etc.).

I got it working by changing line 50 to use [TEMP1] instead of [TEMP3][TEMP4] and removing lines 30 and 40. That seems to be all that is needed for it to work with the new device ID addressing system in use now. :D

You might want to do an update to the DIMAC macro post.

My post was exactly what I'm running right now.

For Insteon, I just use "id" and "" (nul).

Tony,

I used the sample psp as is in my web folder and in both firefox and ie I am seeing no sliders. Just two text boxes with 0 in each.

Have you ever seen anything like this?

I did modify it to match my device names but still no sliders

Try the link to my sample page in the first post and let me know if you see the sliders.

Duh. Of course. Just downloaded it from here:

http://carpe.ambiprospect.com/

and I now see the sliders. Now I have to work out why it is not sending me back to sliderdemo2.psp but instead to execsendkeys.

The result is that the slider shows my last setting and not the current setting.

Maybe this does it.

Look for this line in the psp...

Code:
<input type="hidden" name="nexturl" value="/sliderdemo2.psp">

...and change the value to the name of your psp file.

I just ran across this web slider control and it looks pretty slick:

Here is the demo Page:

Has anyone used the Tigra Slider Control on a PSP page, controlling Insteon devices?
