Hi -I installed a new IOLINC that I bought from the new Insteon. It's
linked, it -mostly- works. I use it as a sensor connected to a garage
door switch. The switch is rock solid, but the module sends some
strange commands back to the PLM. For example, it will often
send this when the door opens or closes:
9/23/2023 19:14:11.798 30 &nbs p; Incoming Insteon received on
INSTEON PLM controller PLMMODEM. From Address:[70.7E.32]
To Address:[11.CC.FF] Flags:[39] Cmd1:[47] Cmd2:[0]. Decode:
Direct ACK. From: NEWIOLINC To: PLMCTLR1, Set Bk LED &nb sp;
320 Insteon In 0 &nb sp;#000000 65280 &nb sp; #00ff00
The addresses are correct, but the command is "Set Bk LED". I
don't know how to trigger on this from Powerhome (and can't tell if
it's an On or Off command).
The PLM does properly respond whenever it sees something like
this:
9/23/2023 19:34:33.103 30 &nbs p; Incoming Insteon received on
INSTEON PLM controller PLMMODEM. From Address:[70.7E.32]
To Address:[00.01.01] Flags:[199] Cmd1:[19] Cmd2:[1]. Decode:
Group Broadcast. From: NEWIOLINC Group: 1, Off &nb sp;25
Insteon In 0 &nb sp;#000000 65280 &nb sp; #00ff00
But I wonder if it should be a Broadcast Command, and why it is
going to [00,01,01] (not the PLM address). Still, the PLM responds
to these, but unfortunately, sometimes the door opens or closes,
and even though the IOLINC detects the change (green light on the
unit toggles) no command like the above is received. Instead, the
following could be sent:
9/23/2023 19:34:33.293 30 &nbs p; Incoming Insteon received on
INSTEON PLM controller PLMMODEM. From Address:[70.7E.32]
To Address:[13.00.01] Flags:[199] Cmd1:[6] Cmd2:[0]. Decode:
Group Broadcast Success/Failure Report. From: NEWIOLINC
Group: 1Command: 19 (Off). Number of devices to be cleaned up:
0. Number of Failures: 0. &nbs p;31 Insteon In 0 &nb sp;
#000000 65280 #00ff00
But I don't know how to trigger on this one either.
I have tried resetting and relinking. And I even swapped for a
different module (that one was older, and didn't send the Bk LED
command, but had all the other issues).
I have one of my two dual-band signal bridge modules in the
garage, and it is currently plugged into the IOLINC, so I don't think
it's a signal strength issue, I have my garage door openers, and all
other devices on the garage circuit, isolated with FilterLincs. Also, I
have a wireless sensor in my mailbox next to the garage, and the
connection between that and my PLM through that signal bridge is
rock solid.
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on the responses from
the IOLINC. Thanks Very Much!
