Terry,
No problem. it can be a little daunting at first. If buttons aren't appearing in the Control Center, you probably need to declare some tabs. In the PowerHome Explorer, there is a section called tabs. This is the screen where you can define each of the tab screens for the Control Center. Be sure that the tab order is greater than 0 or it won't be displayed. Once you've declared some tabs, you can go to the X-10 Housecode screen and declare what tabs the buttons for that housecode will appear on. Once that is done, you need to restart the Control Center. If you've set the Control Center to be windowed, then just close the window and re-open it. If the Control Center is set to be a background, you'll need to either restart PowerHome or Reinitialize under the File menu. You should now see your tabs and the buttons. Actually, the buttons will all be stacked one on top of another so it will appear to be a single button. You'll then want to right-click on the tab you're interested in and go into design mode. You'll get a new design window with a new toolbar and you can arrange and size the buttons the way you like. Save your changes and restart the Control Center window again.
You can also launch the sample database included with PowerHome. To do this, shutdown PowerHome and edit the pwrhome.ini file in the PowerHome directory. The line that reads DSN=PowerHome can be changed to DSN=PowerHome Sample. Save the ini file and restart PowerHome. You'll now be using the sample database and you can export macros, etc. that you find interesting to import into your database. To get back to the blank database, just change the line back and restart.
Let me know if you have any other questions,
Dave.
