I tried to upgrade to 1.02.1 from 1.01.3 and the system is now thoroughly broken!  PowerHome 1.02.1 won't start because the database is the wrong version, PowerHome 1.01.3 won't start because of a phfn.pbd file problem, and phupg.exe won't run because it says PowerHome is running (no matter how many reboots I do).  How do I fix it!

If the Upgrade facility is saying that PowerHome is currently running, its because the check is trying to find a window with the title of "PowerHome" or " PowerHome  ".  The older versions of PowerHome had the frame window set to just the text "PowerHome".  This caused a problem for people who had any open folders (windows) that also had a title of "PowerHome".  So in a later version, the frame window had the title changed to " PowerHome  " with a space in front of the word PowerHome and two spaces after.  Thats the history.  Now to fix your problem.  Before launching the database upgrade utility, make sure that no windows are open with the title of "PowerHome" or " PowerHome  " in either the taskbar or the start bar.  The database should also be shut down too.  It will be titled "pwrhome", but will cause a problem if it is running.  This should allow you to upgrade the database.  1.01.3 won't start because the version is different for each of the support files.  You would have to uninstall PowerHome Executable 1.02.1 and reinstall PowerHome Executable 1.01.3.

Please let me know if this helps,

Thanks,

Dave.
