Dave

I'm having trouble with the IR Learn in PH.  I'm using a RedRat2, and I can operate it fine with its own test program.  When I right-click in the "code" box select "Record" and send an IR command to the RR2 nothing happens.  I've checked the port (COM 1) and I have set the windows device manager panel to the correct baud rate (19200).  I have even re-booted before the last test to make sure the COM port isn't in use.  I don't get any "missing" controller messages when PH starts up. . . What could it be?

Bob

Bob,

Go to the Help/About menu and select the controllers tab.  Copy and paste the info there for me.  It could be some different revision I need to investigate.  I'll also run some tests on my own and see if I didn't do something stupid the last time I rewrote the Controller objects.

Dave.

Bob,

Its me.  I checked through the code and when I rewrote the RedRat2 Controller object I didnt return the code properly.  All is fixed now so Im going to double my efforts and try to get the next release out before this weekend.

If you want to test around in the meantime, use the RedRat2 software to learn the code then paste the code into the IR maintenance screen.  Add a '#' sign to the end of the code and PowerHome will be able to playback the IR.

You are right (mostly).  The "Paste" part didn't work (Not even a CTRL-V), but after hand typing it in. . . it worked.  That is quite a string to be typing in, do you think you could fix the CTRL-V paste into that field too?

Thanks for your help. . . Please let me know as soon as you can when the new SW is ready.

Bob

Bob,

Not sure why the Ctl-v wouldn't work.  I tested on my machine and didn't have a problem.  What OS are you using?  I just tested on Win98 SE.  Is it possible that the Ctrl-c isn't working in the other program?

Will definately let you know as soon as it's ready.  I'll be working on it most of tonight and will get it out the door as soon as possible.

Dave.

I don't get it either. . . I have the code in NotePad, highlight it, CTRL-C, switch to PH, click in code box, CTRL-V (nothing), switch back to NotePad, CTRL-V (Pastes the code into NotePad).  ???

OS=Win2K

Bob,

That is strange.  I just tested on my Win2K machine and still didn't have a problem.  In any event, Im done with the next version and just need to update the manual.  Look for it real soon....

Dave

The "Paste" (CTRL-V) started working after I entered the first value.  I would suggest looking at uninitialized fields, since this was the first IR code, in the first IR device I defined in the database.  The second code worked fine. . . just a thought. . .

Thanks again for your help!

Bob

Bizarre...

In any event, the new version is out.  Let me know if you have any problems with it.

Dave.
