I would like to be able to turn on a light at sunset.  I was thinking of using a timed event and make use of the [SUNSET] system variable.  Any ideas on how to do this?  I'm still trying to learn this stuff!

Hmmm... That sounds familliar!  Check here...

One way to have something occur at dusk would be to make a Create Timed Event macro set to the ID of the macro that controls your device (i.e. PORCH LIGHT ON), with a formula of, "string(datetime(today(),relativetime(00:00:00,[dusk])))". Next, create a Timed Event that calls the previous macro once a day to calculate dusk for that day.

Tony is on top of things for me .

In the above example just substitute the [SUNSET] system var for the [DUSK] system var.

Tony and Dave,

Thanks for the help!  I 've got my outside lights coming on at dawn and going out at dusk.  I'm having a lot of fun with this X10 stuff and Power Home especially.  It was a great Christmas present.
