When I add links to a group, Resp Link Status reads Flag Created, but never verifies. Of course the group does not respond to commands. What do I do to correct this?
Interestingly enough. In the device status window the switchlincs indicate that they are responding, but the lights do not come on.

Is the device flagged as disabled on the device screen? Check that out -- be sure to refresh the insteon device screen, and look for the disabled checkbox...

No. No devices are disabled.
Curiously, after I played around with some settings on a KeypadLinc using KPL Config the device changed in Resp Link Status to Verified. Now the KeypadLinc responds to the group command. All the other devices are unchanged. Is there some way to force a verification of a device, like Autodiscover?

Jerome,
Usually only three things will keep a devices links set to "Flagged Create". The first is that the PLC "Poll Interval" is set to 0. Second is that the device is flagged as "Disabled", the third is that the device is flagged as "COMM Failed".
The first situation is easy to check for. In the Insteon Explorer, make sure that the Poll Interval is set to a value greater than 0 (10 would be a good value). Once you change this value, make sure to hit the "Tab" key or click somewhere so that focus is changed from the field in order for the change to take effect.
The second can be verified by going to the "Devices" tab and pressing the "Save/Refresh" button to get the latest status and looking for a check in the "Disabled" column. If there is a check, uncheck and press the "Save/Refresh" button to save the changes.
The third problem is "COMM Failed" and usually what is causing the problem. In the same "Devices" tab, look for any reddish background in the "Clear Failed" column. If you've got a reddish background, this is an indicator that that device has been flagged as failed due to communication issues. To correct, first check that the "Max Failures" setting (top of screen) is set to something in the area of 3 to 5. If you set this value to 0, everything will be flagged as failed and PowerHome will not communicate with the device. Once setting this field, tab or click on another field in order for the change to take effect. Also, press the "Save/Refresh" button to see what changes are effected by changing this value. If the Max Failures field has a reasonable value and you've still got reddish backgrounds, clear the failure by placing a check in the appropriate "Clear Failed" lines (or all of them by clicking the column heading) and pressing the "Save/Refresh" button. You should start to see the "Pending Operations" window fill up with activity if you had some "failed" lines. Watch the SDM Log window and if you're seeing red lines show up, that is a communication problem. After enough communication problems, the device will again be flagged as "COMM Failed" and you've got a different problem to identify (which may just mean that the PLC doesnt have the address to the device in it's memory which can be easily fixed by going to the "Setup" tab and doing the "Clear PLC Database" followed by "Add PowerHome Insteon ID's to PLC (Minimal)"). If no problems, the links will be created and then the "Flagged Create" will be changed to "Verified"...which will be visible after you refresh of course.
HTH,
Dave.

Dave,
It was problem three as you figured. Now everything verifies and group commnands work.
Thank you very much. Next up - formulas.
Shouldn't this information be in a manual or a help file?
