Is anyone using something, (prefer insteon products)to monitor when the garage door is open and send a signal to close it? Thanks.

I did use an ezio 2x4 to monitor and close garage doors, but I now monitor with x10rf door/window sensors via WGL W800RF. I still use the ezio 2x4 to close the door, but I had to build a relay board to interface the ezio to the door contol.

It's currently not working though because last week I had a surge or something that took out my plc, ezio, a toggle linc and two icon dimmers. I have everything back now except the ezio.

I use a UM506 wired in parallel with the pushbutton on the wall and set for momentary contact and X10rf door/window to indicate position.

Best if you have auto reverse sensor or you could squish the neighborhood cat by remote operation.
