I have a registered copy of PowerHome from 2004 installed on an old PIII box with W98. I used to use it with x-10 in my last house. I want to install PowerHome on a new faster computer and I am having trouble. Per the upgrade instructions, I chose help/about and found I have version 1.0.3.4 (there is no number after 1.0.3.4). It looks like I need to upgrade to 1.0.3.7 before I can get to the current version. However, I can't find this version on the website. I am perfectly happy with starting fresh but then I have a licensing issue.

Any ideas?

I plan to use this with a small X-10 setup. I also have a Olevia TV, Onkyo TX-SR805 stereo, ELK M1G and a GoldLine Controls Aqua Connect. All have RS-232 connections. Does anyone know if I can use PowerHome to control these devices?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Rod

For licensing issues, you should email Dave (dhoward@myx10.com).

Yes, you can talk to almost any '232 device via PH. I have a video quad-mux and a modem that I communicate with via PH serial commands.

Tony,

Thanks for confirming. I also plan to control volume, souce, and change channels via a x-10 slimline wall remote. I read in another thread that you were already taking advantage of this feature.

It's been a good 20 years since I have had to write lines of code. Am I biting off more than I can chew?

Best Regards,

Rod

I think you've helped me over at CocoonTech.com. Why not here too.

David helped me with the license issue. I'm excited to get started.

Thanks,

Rod
