Has anyone figured out if the Pcir is beter then the original cir?

And what is the typical setup?  they interface plugged directly into the parallel port and twisted pair (or cat 3/5/6) from there to the location needed with just the IR lamps at the end?  or is there to much loss over the run to drive it?  Also could I put it across the room from my TV unit so I can control all the devices (10 feet away or so)

Thanks

Todd,

I would highly recommend the RedRat2.  Im working on adding support for the new RedRat3, but it is not yet implemented.

If you are interested in the CIR device on Win2K or WinNT, there are some third party programs such as GIVEIO.SYS which will allow direct port access on these OS's.

Dave.
