See the picture below. Anyone know what a ph_comopen() error 3 is?



I recently purchased a QUATECH ThinkQ QSE-100D-BA 4 Port RS-232 Serial Server. See
cocoontech topic link.

The driver for Vista installed fine; I can see all 4 ports. I have even got my touch panel (on my PowerHome machine) using one of the ports...so I really expected PH to have no issues. I have checked port settings, 9600 8n1...so they should match what I am trying to open with my formula.

I do control ALOT of serial ports with this machine. Presently the Quatech ports are numbered 19-22. For my above formula, AVR GAME COM NUM = 3 and AVR GAME PORT NUM = 19.

Help???

Smarty,

The COM functions in PowerHome all use the Microsoft MSCOMM control version 6.0. This control only supports COM ports 1 to 16. However, there is a 1 byte modification that can be made to the existing file to allow it to support COM ports 1 to 256. You can search for the mod on the web or send me an email and I'll send you an already modded version of mscomm32.ocx.

Update:
I was able to re-number some of my COM's. I now can keep them below number 16. No nodified file will be needed.
