Hi,

I need help setting up newly purchased 2450 for
controlling garage door. The problem I hit first was that
2450 is not a defined type in Insteon types table. I
could not find any documentation that explains the
meaning of the columns in this table and their values, so
I need your help figuring this out. Better yet, if
somebody already added 2450 to the list of their type,
could you just give me SQL statament I can run to add the
 entry for it?

 Thanks

You should be able to define it as a SwitchLinc Relay 2476S without adding a new device type. If you want to define a new device type use the same characteristics as a SwitchLinc Relay. The I/O Linc sensor uses Group 1 just like the SwitchLinc paddle and the I/O Linc relay is output unit 0 just like the SwitchLinc. Of course you will not be able to use PowerHome to configure the I/O Linc but Set button linking exposes all the characteristics you need for a garage application.

Thanks, that did help. The only problem now is to figure
out why triggers don't work - I don't see any incoming
 events coming from my 2450...

You need to define a link with the I/O Linc as the Controller (Group 1) and the Powerhome PLM (or PLC) as the Responder. The I/O Linc sends Insteon Group messages when the Sensor changes state and that requires a link from the I/O Linc to some Responder so the I/O Linc knows where to send the Group 1 On and Group 1 Off as the Sensor changes state.

I don't want to steal the Post , but most of the info is here and just want to be clear , you will go into Insteon Explorer and than do the Manual linking of PLM/PLC as the responder and link 2450. (put 2450 unit into setup mode to be linked). that's the way I did and seems to work fine.
