I am running Powerhome 2.1.2 on windows 7 64-bit and
everything is working properly except for the wizard icon
is grayed out and un-clickable. I just received all my x-10
gear and am trying to control them with powerhome, but the
wizard is unavailable. Do I have to have the x-10 transceiver plugged in before I start powerhome? Or what is
the problem with the wizard?

Taylor,

The wizard is disabled in the beta version (at least in 2.1.2) because it wasnt updated for the additional 2.1.x features and needs to be updated.

I would also definitely upgrade to beta version 2.1.4 as 2.1.2 had some problems. The zip file for 2.1.4 is in the 2.1.2 thread.

In 2.1.4, the wizard was re-enabled but only for the creation of the Control Center screens. To define your X10 devices, you would need to use the PowerHome Explorer (I actually find this easier to use than the wizard anyways since you can see all of your devices).

To use the Explorer, just go to the Maintenance menu and select PowerHome Explorer. In the left hand tree, navigate to PowerHome|Devices|X10|Units. You can then define your device in the right hand screen. Right click to Insert, Delete, etc. When defining devices, keep the ID short but descriptive, the Description can be more verbose.

Hope this helps,

Dave.
