Could someone help me with TTS setup?   I just tried installing both SAPI 4 (all 3 exe on setup cd) and SAPI 5 (1 exe).    Within PH Explorer -> Setup > TTS, I've set it as SAPI 5.

I tried to run in the multi editor but no sound comes out:

ph_tts("HELLO WORLD!")

Output:

Formula Evaluation
     Execution time: 0.001 seconds.
     The formula evaluates to: 0

I also notice the Voice > TTS Setup dialogue has a dropdown with blank. Is there something that should be in here?

I tried playing with TTS from windows control panel (Control Panel > Change Text to Speech Setting) and I was able to play with the Microsoft Anna voice on some sample text.

Also, is it possible to direct TTS or any audio playback to a specific device output? I believe the TTS to specific audio device was asked several years ago and it was mentioned it may be included in future PH.


I'm running:

PH 2.1.4
Windows 7 64 bit, using default c:\powerhome running as admin.
