The Forum used to allow images to be uploaded, which was an
EXTREMELY handy feature.

This appears to no longer be possible!

Is there any hope of getting this fixed? There are many
things that are hard to readily convey without images.

Sure would like to see this feature
fixed/restored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Until it's fixed, what about a free DropBox account?

Tony -

Great idea!!!

Dave. What do you think?

I have a dropbox but don't want to clutter it up with
things that need to have persistence.

But if the Forum "had" a dropbox account, then it would
work for all.

Would be a good place to put code too.

Perhaps setting up the box with a few initial folders to
organize cocntents, such as
    Images
    Code
    Documentation/Manuals
    HowTos

....While I think that could work for those of us that use the forum often....

I think it would be just one more hurdle for the new user to overcome and understand (leading to fewer successful new users).

Crazy idea.... What if we got a sub forum area on Cocoontech? Then Dave wouldn't have to
manage this forum at all (and spend more time developing!) I have no idea if they would
be interested, or if they would charge Dave to host. But it would have some advantages,
namely one place for all my HA needs.

Smarty, Skip -

Good thinkin'

It would be best to make what we already have work right.

Dave, what made the Forum quit working and why can't it
be fixed?

If it can't be fixed then these other alternatives make
sense to restore full functionality.

What would it take to move the whole forum (lock, stock,
and barrel) to a working forum site? That keeps
everything all together and working.

This should be no problem.

Just an update to this thread for completeness.

Dave (bless his heart) recently spent several days
modifing the Forum software he bought to run the forum, and
whose vendor quit supporting file and image uploads.

In his infinite wisdom, Dave made everything work again!

What can you say except "Thanks Dave."
