All,
PowerHome version 2.1.5a is now available for download here: http://www.power-home.com/download/ph215asetup.exe
It includes fixes for the bugs reported so far in 2.1.5. If you are upgrading from 2.1.5, then no need to uninstall, just rename your PowerHome directory and then install fresh. Copy over your database and pwrhome.ini files (as well as any others) and you should be good to go.
If you are upgrading from a version prior to 2.1.5, see the more detailed upgrade instructions in the 2.1.5 post.
MD5 for the 2.1.5a download is: 0103e8cd33ced1a49fd2f69f2693dbcd
Please use this thread to post any problems/issues/comments regarding version 2.1.5a.
Dave.

Is this supposed to say "if you are upgrading from 2.1.4 . . ."
Just want to be sure I do this right.

Mike,
The OP is correct. If you've already upgraded to 2.1.5 and now wish to upgrade to 2.1.5a, then you don't need to go through the hassle of uninstalling PowerHome before the new install.
If however, you havent yet upgraded to 2.1.5 and are still on 2.1.4 or earlier, you MUST uninstall all previous versions of PowerHome before installing either 2.1.5 or 2.1.5a (there is a conflict between the two different installer programs). Going forward, this shouldnt be necessary as Ive switched from Installshield to Inno.
Hope this helps,
Dave.

Um,
Maybe I missed something....
The post says, ".....you don't need to go through the hassle of uninstalling PowerHome before the new install...."
I'm running 2.1.5 and when I try to run the install, it comes up with an error message:
"A previous version of PowerHome is currently installed on your system. You must uninstall all previous versions of PowerHome before installing version 2.1.5."
So, to install it, I'll have to uninstall 2.1.5.....
What should I do?

I had that happen too, I went and actually uninstalled PowerHome 2.1.2 from "Add/Remove Programs" or whatever it's called in the newer versions of Windows. Once that was gone, I ran the install again with no hassles.

Did you change the name of your PowerHome directory first?

gg,
The only thing I can think of is that a previous
uninstall didnt complete successfully and a residual
registry key is still hanging around from an older
version. With 2.1.5, I only checked for versions
2.1.4/2.1.2 and 2.1b. With 2.1.5a, I checked for every
version that I had a record of so most likely you've got
a residual from a pre 2.1b version. This is probably why
2.1.5 installed successfully but 2.1.5a is giving you a
problem.
Let me know if you're comfortable or not working with
registry and I'll send you the keys that Im checking from
the earlier versions and you can manually wipe them.
Dave.

Thanks for the info guys, I just went ahead and uninstalled it and am running nicely. I just found it strange that I "should not have to uninstall" but I did have to... I'm not worried about anything, just kind of reporting the issue. Also, I'm traveling for a few months and I'm not home, so I'm VERY HESITANT to do things remotely. Better to ask and look stupid than crash a remote system.
Dave, I'm very amazed with all the support you provide, and advice on a range of topics, and I try to only bring up issues that might affect others or the quality of the product.
I can't thank you enough.
