Hi - I'm running 2.1.4 and have a problem. For any macro (even a new one), if I try to enter any command that requires something in the ID field, and then make any choice from the dropdown in the ID field,I get the error

----------------------------
DataWindow Error

Item 'FOO'
   FOO

10
0' does not pass the validation test.
----------------------

where FOO is the item chosen in the ID field.

I just ran phupg, so I don't know what else to do.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Jeff,

Not sure what might be wrong here. I can only speculate that your dropdowns table might be corrupted. When you ran the phupg upgrade utility, did you use the version that had the option to not copy eventlog entries?

The first thing I would do is just reboot to make sure that isnt an issue. Then create a new test macro and make the first line a macro command. See if you can select a macro ID in the ID column without error.

If that doesnt work, next thing to do would probably be to zip and email me your database so I can check for corruption.

Dave.

Hi Dave - My version of phupg had no options, but after I ran it, a trim of the log worked properly, but didn't fixed this issue, neither did a reboot.

I appreciate your help, as i have a lot of man-hours tied up in my .db file.   I have mailed a link to it (too big to email) to powerhome -at gmail -dot - com

Thanks!

Here's what happened - a couple of months ago I 'upgraded' to win7. So I had to install a new version from scratch. I wasn't able to find a link, or reference to 2.1.4 easily (didn't see it on the downloads page), so apparently i installed 2.1.2 and then the I2CS patch on top of it, and thought I was good to go.   Tonight I searched the forums and found a link to 2.1.4. I Installed it in my current PH folder, re-applied the I2CS patch, and the issue appeared fixed with nothing else amiss.

Thanks everyone!
