I will start off this post by apologizing if the
question I'm asking has been answered elsewhere on
this forum (I have performed several searches and I
can't seem to find a good answer).

Can someone please tell me what Windows Version works
with PowerHome 2? I need to do a full install of a
new OS on a new hard drive and I want to make sure I
install a Win version that will work with this
software. I can see on the System Requirements that
it says "Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista", but I'm wondering
if I install the latest and greatest version of Win,
will it work? Maybe it's not officially supported,
but I'll be able to use it...that's OK with me.

I do appreciate any responses and I'm looking forward
to getting PH2 up and running again (I used to have a
really old version about 7 years ago).

Thanks!!!

I don't know if anyone has tried Windows 8 with
Powerhome yet. Windows 7 works just fine. I'm sure
that the program would install but you might find some
difficulties getting drivers to work properly for the
controller (the hardware connected to the PC).

Once you get into unfamiliar territory, it can be
really hard to fix problems.

I've used Windows 7 and Server 2012r2 (which should be the equivalent to 8 or 8.1). So I would guess it should run on 8, though I did have a few quirky things I had to work around, but it wasn't really too bad. I think I used the Windows 7 drivers for the hardware.

I uses Win 7 , 8, 8.1 and XP with PH 2.1.4 and 2.1.5a without any difficulties. The exception is you should run as administrator with 8x. I personally prefer Win 7. Just my 2.5 cents....
