I'm evaluating Powerhouse and have generated a sizable event log in the process which I would like to trim. In the documentation it mentions a "TRIM EVENT LOG" macro I have typed this into the play macro box and it appears to run but without any effect on the log, what am I doing wrong, should there be a parameter, whats the syntax?

I use the following to trim my eventlog daily to keep 4 days worth: (nite the "4" in the command).
"ph_trimeventlog ( 4 )"

I have the above command in a timed event to run each day to keep the log trimmed to 4 days. you can also double click this command in the timed event line to edit it, and the click verify will actually execute it.

You can use either the formula function "ph_trimeventlog" as Nick suggested, or you can use the "TRIM EVENT LOG" macro command. Using the macro command, place the number of days you would like to leave in the log in the "Send Keys" field.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Dave.

Thanks for your prompt responses & help, it wasn't obvious from the documentation - cracked it now!
A more general question - I see that the current beta was posted in september, is this going to be superceded by a non-beta version soon? For that matter is there a new release planned?

Actually the current beta (1.03.4.3) was released on December 5, 2004 .

A release version will be forthcoming. But there will be at least two more betas before it. I have initial support for the K8000 coming in the next beta followed by more general support for the CPU-XA/Ocelot and K8000 regarding digital/analog I/O and triggers. I may even try to squeeze in support for the CM15A before the next release.

The only real difference between the beta's and the release version however are updates to the manual (besides the version numbering). The current beta is stable (more so than the release) but the manual has not been updated to include documentation on the additional features.

HTH,

Dave.
