The short answer...yes, absolutely. As long as the PSP's web browser supports simple JavaScript, then the default Device Status web page will control X-10 very nicely. Even if the PSP doesnt support JavaScript, then a PSP page could easily be put together to achieve control.
You could also design Control Center screens to fit the resolution of your PSP and have basically a wireless remote control.
HTH,
Dave.

It depends entirely on what you want to do. If you simply want to define some X-10 devices and control them remotely via the web, then it is a piece of cake. No programming or logic required at all. If you just follow the quick start guide, it'll walk you through X-10 device creation. Turn the webserver on, assign a userid and password and you're ready to go.
PowerHome is capable of infintely more functionality though. You can start creating triggers to perform actions when other actions happen or design macros to perform a complicated (or easy) sequence of events. You can create timed events to make things happen at a certain time. PowerHome can become deep depending upon what you're trying to achieve. Simple X-10 control via the web is very simple.

You should be good to go. The TV may be tricky with X-10. Usually you would use an IR controller. If you use an appliance module to control power to your TV, you'll be ok. Just dont plug your TV into a lamp module...it may just go poof.
I would download and install the trial version. Go ahead and configure the software to use the CM17A controller. Since this is a one way device, PowerHome will work exactly like it would if the controller was actually plugged in. You'll be able to test out all the functionality...the lights just wont actually turn on and off (the status will be updated in PowerHome because it cant actually tell if the lights are on or off because the CM17A is transmit only...not receive).
If you run into any problems, just let me know and I can help you out.
Dave.

The trial version is fully functional. I was saying that you can still configure and test PowerHome even if your Firecracker has not arrived yet. Since the Firecracker is a 1 way device, PowerHome will perform exactly the same whether the device is actually plugged into PowerHome or not .

You assign a master userid and password in the webserver configuration screen. No one can access or control your home without the proper credentials.

As long as you don't exceed the recommended power rating, you should be able to do this. You could also set three individual appliance modules to the same address so they will respond together. You can also set them to individual unitcodes within the same housecode and using special X-10 commands control them such that they all respond simultaneously.

I would start with the current beta version 1.03.4.4. This is more stable and has much greater functionality over the release version. All you should need to install is the file here http://www.power-home.com/download/ph10344Full.exe.
If you're interested in TTS or Voice recognition, you can pick up those modules at a later time. Initially, all you need is just the file above.

Sure, if you get a supported IR device (CIR, Multi-CIR, RedRat2, RedRat3, CPU-XA/Ocelot, USB-UIRT, Slink-e).
I have the USB-UIRT and can whole-heartedly recommend it.

The USB-UIRT is the best way to go, IMHO. $50 and you're done... unless you need IR control somewhere besides near your PC. For that, you could use a set of Powermids from Martin.
