SmartLabs has invited me to demo PowerHome at the upcoming EHX Expo in Orlando, Florida at the end of this month.
For all of you who may be going, please be sure and stop by to say Hi.
Dave.

Dave-
While you are there, you might want to hook up with somebody from RCS. Their RS485 thermostats are very popular and are supported by most HA systems. I think they make an RS232 to RS485 converter and it might be easier than you think to add direct support for RCS thermostats to PowerHome.
Another advantage is that RCS makes inexpensive keypads and I/O modules that could run off the same RS485 line. This would allow some direct user input without going to an expensive touch screen solution or having to depend on some other platform as a subsystem to get thermostat, keypad, and I/O support.
They also have a nice 8 channel RS485 relay board and a board with 2 relays and 2 opto-isolated digital inputs. Check it out if you get a chance.

Mike,
That is a great idea. I will definately look them up and I know they will be there.
This is definately a route I would like to go as I want to use the RS-485 thermostats in my own home .
