I just did a fresh install of the latest version on a new pc and it read all my devices from the PLC but it is not discovering the links. I've defined my Powerlinc and all the devices are correctly associated with it.
Here is the last group of entries from my log after I start PH fresh and it connect to the PLC.

No one has any suggestions for things I should check to make sure I configured it correctly? :(

I've never had any problems, so I have no Insteon troubleshooting experience.
If you had PH running before, you should just upgrade (copy over your old database, ini files, and such).
Dave sometimes has a few days when he doesn't hit the board. I'm sure he'll have suggestions soon.
If you need assistance quicker, an email to him should also do the trick.

Due to an HD crash I have no older PH database to work from.
It read all my devices from the PLC fine, it auto discovers and I can read KPL info... it just won't scan the devices for links. I'm baffled.

Well I uninstalled .9 and installed .7 (w/ SDM 227), configured my PLC, restarted, SDM opened and I auto-discovered my devices. Did all that with .9 too but now in .7 it's finding all my links. Go figure.
Now I'm afraid to try .9 again.

Well out of my stubbornness and wanting to know what was wrong. Since I knew .7 was working I shut it down and moved the directory somewhere else. I then reinstalled .9 started it up, created my controller, restarted, added IDs from PLC and bingo it started discovering everything. I had to of missed something the first time around.
I guess the PH gods are just on my side today.

Snowjay,
Did you win the lottery?
Anyways, I was at the folks house this weekend so am sorry to be responding so late. Im glad that a reinstall got it working but if you've still got a copy of your old database that didnt work, you can email it too me and I can see what was causing the problem.
Off the top of my head though, PowerHome will only scan the links if several conditions are met. First, the device must be flagged "Active" and not be flagged as "Failed Match". Both of these can be found in the "Device Maint" tab.
Next, the device must think the database is out-of-date. If the device is freshly added either manually or through some form of auto-discovery, then this should already be flagged. However, if for some reason the device is not flagged as the database needing to be scanned, then you can force the flag checked by placing a check in the "Scan DB" checkbox (again in the Device Maint tab).
Hope this helps and glad it's now working.
Dave.

Thanks Dave.
I didn't save a copy of the old database. Sorry. :(
I did try the Scan DB checkbox and save but that wouldn't even kick things off. Weird. Ahh well it's all working now.
