I'm using the CM17A firecracker transmitter and the MR26A x10 RF receiver. Since I only have one working serial port, I use the CM17A as a pass-through device and plug the MR26A into it. That is, they share the same serial port, which was intended in the CM17A design. I defined both X10 controllers in the setup area of powerhome, and assigned them the same port number. The MR26A works fine, but when I try to send commands to the CM17A, I get the error below. The same thing happens if I subsitute a CM11A for the MR26A. Is the use of pass-through of the CM17A not supported? The CM17A works just fine if I plug it in by itself and limit the powerhome setup by only defining that controller.

Here's the text of the error message from the pop-up screen and the report log:

"A critical error has occurred.

Error Number: 39
Error Message: Error accessing external object property portopen at line 5 in function f_cm17asend of object uo_controller_cm17a.

Chris,

You are correct that PowerHome does not currently support the pass-thru feature of the CM17A. It should work in conjunction with other programs but will not allow you to have two controllers on the same serial port. This was not necessarily intentional, but more a side effect of the Microsoft communication object and the way Ive got inheritance set up within the PowerHome program. I will take a look and see if it would be feasible for me to add this kind of support however.

Dave.
