I know this is probably only possible with a special device, but has anyone ever done this? I think it would be pretty slick to have the system notify you of a burned out bulb so you don't just let it sit like that.

I love it, wouldn’t be nice to have this. You know it’s possible with sensing. But better, yet time to replace the bulb message.…

Would this work? it's kinda expensive with all the extra insteon devices... but if you really want to know if your bulb is burnt out... :)   Get PH to detect when you turn the light on and then have a line of code to poll the status of that second insteon device and if it doesn't see it, it means its not getting power... hense the bulb is burnt out?

Why not… If the bulb is filament not CFL or multiple lights. Also most circuit boxes don’t have an extra slot. But then you think I might notice when I walked into the room and issue a verbal “time to change the bulb” tts..

An X10 motion sensor's light sensor may be cheaper if you have a RF receiver.
