So, anyone have any experience with this plugin?

Basically the plugin does not seem to be able to recognize when the connection has been lost and it does not seem to be able to force the connection to disconnect.

Issue 1: When the server the plugin is connected to goes down the plugin still returns connected. Also the connection sometimes seems to drop after a day or two - and the plugin still returns connected. In both cases all commands just time out.

Issue 2: I tried to avoid issue 1 (or at least minimize it) by connecting, completeing my task, and then disconnecting the socket. It turns out that the disconnect command does not seem to have any effect, the plug in still returns connected (though I think the disconnect does render the connection unusable - all commands timeout)

When I've encountered the above conditions the only way I can get things working again is to ask PH to reinitiate. That makes things work again, but having to do this daily (or more) is not accceptable.

Notes:
1. I am still using PH 1 I have not upgraded to PH 2 yet...
2. I don't think this has to do with the server I'm connecting to, but if there is something it can do to make this better let me know - I'm writting that as welll (controls Vista Windows Media Center)

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Tony
