Hey All,

I have had a problem with my trigger linc setup recently
and I really am having some difficulties solving it.
Essentially I had a USB PLM, but it wasn't working out
for me so I had to switch over to a serial PLM. Got it
all up and running (at least I thought so) and what I am
finding is that when my door sensor (monitors the front
door) opens it is sending three "on" signals (which
proceeds to launch my macro to turn on the lights three
times). When the door then closes it is sending three
"off" signals.

I noticed that two of those signals are going to address
[00.00.01], and the final one is going to the address of
my new PLM.

It seems that the macro gets launched each time, but it
does not turn on my lights, I am assuming because they
are launched so quickly after one another that it can't
turn on the lights?

Either way I am uncertain why it is sending 3 "on" and 3
"off"....

Without going into a lot of detail. It is probably from Group Cleanup commands. You might try putting TRIGDISABLE in the Boolean field of the trigger and see what happens. Trigdisable can be found here on the 1st page.

The 00.00.01 in the From field is the Group number. Just about all RF only devices send multiple Group Broadcast messages (the ones with the 00.00.01). Some send 2, some send 3, in addition to the Group Cleanup Direct message that follows.

Pete's suggestion is the work around. Powerhome triggers on the Group Broadcast so it is necessary to prevent the additional Group Broadcast messages from triggering the macro.

Hey guys thanks this worked perfectly!

Of course now I have another problem. It seems that I
can no longer communicate with my PLM (2413 S). I am
getting the same system message over and over again "Get
IM info command failed for Insteon PLM Modem. Attempting
to restart controller...." and it just repeats it. It
was working fine for a few days and then all of a sudden
this started happening.

I had a 2413U hooked up before the 2413S and it was
working fine for several weeks, and then it started
acting the exact same way.

Any ideas?

Usually it’s the USB one that has a problem if you are going have a problem. In either case it most likely is the cable or the port. Are you running a long cable to the PLM? If so try a short one if possible with a 3 prong extension cord if needed.

make sure serial port # in device manager is same as in power home setup. (not your old PLM #)
