I have purchased a 2448A7 USB adaptor to use with my new home's PowerHome install and Insteon devices. I'm in the process of setting up the computer and a fresh install of PH so it's ready for when we are finally get the house keys. I don't have any wall switches installed where we are temporarily staying to test with, so I'm setting it up with just my older LampLinc type plug in modules (2456D3, 2856D2B, 2856S3B, etc.) I am not able to get any of these devices to link with PH. In PH I go into autodetect and then I hit the button on the adaptors, but nothing happens. The only thing I have luck getting to work is a 2420M motion sensor.

What would make these devices not want to link with PH? They are only a few feet away from the 2448A7. Does it matter that they are older and likely not dual band?

Thanks.

As I recall you need an access point to talk to the non wireless units. The newer modules are 2 way and I believe one has to be within 8 - 10 feet to work. The distance of your motion detector would confirm that.
