By old alarm panel was hit by lightening and I'm
replacing it with an ELK M1G. I'll be using the wiring
from the old panel (hopefully).

Of course I want to integrate ELK with PH and have seen
2 ways to do it. Smarthome sells the Elk with the M1-
SXP which uses a PLC (I have an extra PLC) and I've seen
posters use the ELK-M1XEP ethernet connection. I think
I would like to use the ethernet connection because the
Elk panel is close to my router and I wouldn't have to
deal with a PLC and my existing PLM, but I don't know
the disadvantages of going this route. Are there any
disadvantages? Will setup and communication between ELK
and PH be similar?

Anything else I should know?

Thanks.

Noel
