I've got PH connected to ElkM1G/M1XEP over Ethernet and M1XSP connected to a 2414S. M1G rev 4.5.8, XSP 50.1.4. I am trying to download Insteon devices into the XSP and 2414S. I can't seem to get PH to treat ElkM1 as an Insteon controller. How do I put devices into the XSP/2414S from PH?

dans,

First first are you using a serial cable from the PC to the M1-xsp and a null modem for uploading the Insteon devices. You can not upload over Ethernet.
Second is that a 2412s Plm or a 2414s plc. On the Mi-xsp the jumper #7 mist be set for plc no matter which you have for downloading only. Then depending on which you have the PLC or PLM you have to set the M1-xsp jumper #7 appropriately.
After you are all done uploading you then disconnect the serial cable from you pc and the M1-xsp and reconect it to the controller.

I was trying to do it over Ethernet. I have a 2414S PLC. So if I understand this correctly, I unplug the 2414S, plug in PH via serial and a null modem to the M1XSP, download the Insteon setting, then unplug the PH and plug the 2414S back in and things should work? Is that right?
